Estuary Wildlife Tour by Voyageur Canoe This is a wonderful soft adventure in the sheltered waters of Ucluelet Inlet. With some luck, the first of the black bears will make their annual pilgrimage down to the lush estuaries to replenish their fat reserves. The better the weather, the better the chance of bears. |

We travel by a large, stable Voyageur canoe to explore the many estuaries, creek mouths and mud flats in search of black bears feeding on shoreline salt grasses and shore crabs. Daryl, your tour guide, is so familiar with the bears that he has names for them and knows their social ranking among the shoreline black bear communities. |

The trip is more than just bears. There are several eagle nests and eagles to view - at times there are so many on one of the islands its hard to count them all. Sea lions and harbour seals can also be seen, and with a little luck you may also see river otters. Near the end of the inlet there is a large island surrounded by mud flats - at low tide its a great place to view raccoons. |

We will even show you a variety of bottom dwelling creatures. With a special long handled net, we can pick up a variety of marine creatures. These include brilliant coloured starfish that measure more than a metre across. If you are really fortunate you may see a giant moon snail or a sea cucumber. |

Don't worry about paddling because on every trip we have a silent electric motor that's even more quiet than paddling itself. You will love the relaxation it offers, cruising and sipping hot chocolate in total silence. Pristine Adventures' unique wildlife viewing style is proven to get you close to wildlife in an unobtrusive manner. |
